If Grayson doesn’t become a musician I will be surprised. The boy loves music. I’ve never seen an almost-three-year-old belt out as many tunes as him. He doesn’t sing things like “The Wheels on the Bus” and “Pop Goes the Weasel” (though there are a few kid songs in his little jukebox brain). He sings songs by Depeche Mode, The Killers, The Beatles, She & Him, She Wants Revenge, Weezer and One Republic.
He’s currently obsessed with “Enjoy the Silence” by Depeche Mode and “Kiss Me” by She Wants Revenge.
We have a guitar that he runs to go play whenever he gets the chance. The kids also have a toy piano that he sits at and makes music. He’s almost always humming and always asks you what song you want to hear him sing.
I really hope he hangs on to this love of music. I love watching him dance as he sings. I love that he becomes totally engrossed in the music and that he’s able to remember so many of the lyrics to the songs that he loves. I love that at the age of almost three years old he likes the same music as David and me.
I can’t wait to take him to his first concert.
