25 Week Bump Update

Sorry… no cute picture, folks. Truth is I haven’t been taking pictures with the “real” camera at all and the mirror pictures I’ve been taking with my cell phone each week are kind of scary. I always look crazy, like, about to yell, “No wire hangers!” crazy (and if you must know, I really do loathe wire hangers).

So this week I am 25 weeks. You don’t get many updates from me because, well, this is my fourth pregnancy and everything is “been there done that” for me and things never change much from week to week.

I still get sick.
The bump is bigger and measuring one and a half weeks ahead.
I found out this morning I have Gestational Diabetes – again.
I’m tired.
I’m ravenous.
I’ve gained roughly ten pounds total, and now that I’m officially diabetic again (for the next 104 days or so) that gain will start to taper off some.
I have my third ultrasound on October 1st to check on the placenta and see if it still looks like I might have Placenta Previa. My doctor thinks that I should be in the clear since my second ultrasound was done kind of early.
Flynn is a kickboxer. Which I LOVE, the babies moving and kicking me is my my favorite part of pregnancy.

I’m lucky though. My kids have let me nap most days which helps with the exhaustion. My husband answers my every beck and call – which usually involves filling my water bottle or bringing me a snack.

Okay, I lied – kind of. Here is the scary picture I took yesterday. I wake up unwillingly at 5:00 AM because ever since Irelyn started kindergarten she thinks that’s the time kindergartners need to wake up. We live a three minute drive from the school, she DOES NOT need to wake that early.

Other than the daily soreness I feel with this pregnancy it is the same as the others. Soooo… I am hoping Flynn is born either two weeks early (like his brother was) or one week early (like his sisters) cause as fun as it is to say, “My baby’s due on Christmas!” I imagine that it’s not actually that fun to share your birthday with (or too close to) a major holiday. Also, since everything is following suit here, I expect that Flynn will be at least 8 pounds when born (I can thank a mix of genetics and the GD for that). Irelyn was 8 lbs 4 oz, Chloe was 8 lbs 6 oz and Grayson was 9 lbs 4 oz. I’ve got me some good birthing hips. Not really though.

So that’s that. Not super exciting, right? I’ll probably attempt to update after my doctor’s appointments from here on out.

  4. Such a cute bump! I was due on Christmas, but came two weeks late – there’s always that option too, I guess. :P

    • No! He is not allowed to be two weeks late! Actually, my OB won’t let me go past 40 weeks because of the Gestational Diabetes so I should be in the clear there. :)
